ELC 0100 - American Cultural Enrichment for the ESL Student

5 contact hours per week. An experiential class that provides exposure to American culture through field trips, readings, and videos. Discussions that provide information on the differences in cultural mores, laws, and etiquette, between the native culture of the ESL student and those found in the United States with focus on the South in general and Mississippi in particular. Placement – Students taking the Beginning and Intermediate Levels in the English Language Center. Class may be taken at the Beginning Level and repeated in the Intermediate Level.
