PSY 398 - Psychology of Trauma

Credit Hours: 3
This course is focused on the study of traumatic stress and posttraumatic stress disorder. Using readings, lectures, clinical case presentations, films, and class discussions, the course will cover the history, etiology, theories, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of traumatic stress. Following the developmental psychopathology model, empirical research on the effects and treatment of traumatic stress upon different age groups will also be presented.
