Non-Licensure Educational Studies Concentration

Requirements


This concentration is specifically designed for students who are seeking a Bachelor of General Studies degree but are NOT seeking licensure for public school teaching. Non-licensure educational studies courses will NOT substitute for courses within the Teacher Education program of study and will not lead to any type of teaching license.

The Bachelor of General Studies (B.G.S.) degree requires 36 hours in one area or two concentrations of 18 semester hours each. Students may use non-licensure educational studies courses for one of the concentrations required for this degree. Within the concentration, 50 percent of the courses must be upper-level courses. Students choosing this concentration will be required to complete a memorandum of understanding acknowledging that non-licensure courses shall not be used for teaching licensure.
