School Psychometry Endorsement (21 hrs)

Program Overview


Psychometrics is the field of study that looks at the design, administration, and interpretation of tests that measure human responses. The Department of Psychology and Counseling offers an add-on endorsement for individuals who hold a master’s degree (AA Teacher Licensure) in education. 

Program Admission Requirements


To fulfill requirements for admission to the School Psychometry Endorsement program, the student must: 

  • have completed a baccalaureate degree in from an accredited college or university;
  • have completed a graduate degree in education (e.g., MEd, EdS, PhD, EdD) from an accredited college or university;
  • hold a valid Mississippi AA Teacher License.
  • have completed coursework that reflects adequate preparation for pursuing an advanced degree in psychology;
  • submit two references from non-family members;
  • this program of study does not allow for probationary or incomplete admission status.

Dual Enrollment

Students may not be enrolled simultaneously in the M.S. in counseling psychology and any other graduate degree program.

Credentialing Disclosure

Completion of a degree program does not guarantee credentialing. Individuals who are seeking licensure or certification must satisfy all requirements of the various credentialing boards and should contact the appropriate board to obtain requirements prior to enrolling in a program at William Carey University. It is the student’s responsibility to satisfy these requirements.

 

Program Progression Requirements


  • Students must successfully complete the plan of study approved by the faculty with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and no grades below a B within a six-year time frame. 
  • Refer to Academic Regulations   for degree progression and completion requirements.
