MTH 100 - Guitar and Voice Class

Guitar and Voice Class addresses an array of topics to provide students with a solid foundation for their individualized musical output. The course includes topics specific to guitar and voice in the music therapy field. Guitar playing includes proper playing technique, purpose and use of capo, individual practice routines, methods for tuning, identifying notes on fret board, playing scales, bar chord explanation, and increased chord and strumming repertoire. Voice learning focuses on proper breath support, dynamics based on environmetal conditions, skills to find starting pitch, and strategies for memorizing chords and lyrics. Methods of instruction include lecture, demonstrations, role-play, self-evaluation, and quizzes.
