Students majoring in Biblical Studies will: 1) study the Bible in its varied cultural, historical, literary, and theological contexts, 2) be prepared for graduate level study, 3) develop their reading skills in Biblical Greek or Hebrew as foundational for Biblical exegesis and cultural awareness of the ancient Biblical world, and 4) be prepared for Christian missions or ministry service.
Students who major in biblical studies are required to take a minor or a second major. Recommended areas of study for the minor or second major are the humanities, biblical languages, philosophy, Christian ministry, or intercultural studies.
