Program Overview
The mission of the M.Ed. in Physical Education degree program is to provide individuals with the knowledge necessary to educate others physically by giving them a clear understanding of procedures, methods, techniques, and materials for effective and competent teaching. The goal of the program is to produce graduates who have strong teaching skills with an in-depth knowledge of the subject and to produce graduates whose skills in planning, implementation, adaptation, and evaluation have been enhanced. Program Admission Requirements
In order for students to be admitted to the program the following admission requirements must be met: - Complete an online application Apply to Carey through Graduate Admissions
- Sumbit all official transcripts electronically to Graduate Admissions
- Have a GPA > 2.5 for the last 64 hours of undergraduate work or a cumulative GPA > 2.5
- Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
- Submit a memorandum of understanding (MOU) stating that the MED PE degree will NOT lead to a teaching license before registering for classes.
Transfer Credit A maximum of six hours of graduate credit may be transferred from another accredited institution. All transfer courses must be approved prior to degree application. Program Progression and Graduation Requirements
