EBD 794 - Advanced Issues in Working with Families of Students with Emotional and Behavioral DisordersCredit Hours: 3 The course includes a review of best practices in collaborating with parents to meet family, school, and individual needs. It includes identifying the stages of acceptance for families in learning coping mechanisms and participating in the treatment plan. It investigates the wraparound approach as a multidisciplinary model engaging support from school personnel, social services, transportation, medical, and mental health. Candidates will develop and distribute to stakeholders a comprehensive notebook of local, state, and national resources appropriate for students with EBD.
