ANT 6300 - Database and Assessment Methods for Anatomy Education1 hr This course deals with the understanding of assessment methods, the synthesis of optimal questions, and their application to educational research, particularly those related to NBME/NBOME board examinations. It also examines typical statistics generated during course implementation and how these measurements measure course effectiveness. These statistical variables include the following measurements for exam and question statistics: exam-level statistical variables (mean, median, standard deviation, and internal consistency reliability); question-level statistical variables (difficulty indices, discrimination indices, point biserial coefficient, and response frequencies). The relationships between these measurements and a set of assessment design case studies will be explored. Finally, each student will assist in the interpretation of these statistics for each examination delivered to the osteopathy medical and graduate programs (both didactic and practical) during their matriculation.
