EDU 4020 - STEM Methods I

3 hrs

STEM Methods I will explore science and engineering while integrating technology as human activities through studying the values, assumptions, major paradigms, and purposes of these activities to understand similarities and difference among the disciplines. Connections to effective STEM instruction will be made including inquiry-based learning, integrating STEM disciplines, and teaching the natures of the STEM disciplines. Through course activities, students will come to understand the role of Science and Engineering Practices, crosscutting concepts, and disciplinary core ideas as put forward in the K-12 Framework for Science Education. Focus: Complete field/practicum observation hours and begin portfolio project.
Field Experience Requirement: 4 hrs
