REL 461 - Race, Culture, and the Church

Credit Hours: 3
This course focuses on the role of the local church in matters related to race, ethnicity, poverty, and social justice.  The histories of immigration of American minority groups and their relationship to the church will be surveyed with an aim to enhance understanding and contributions of all citizens. Students will develop a biblical perspective on the issues of race and unity and will engage with the Bible’s repeated command to care for the widow, orphan, poor, and sojourner among us.
