NUR 312 - Women’s and Children’s Health Nursing

Credit Hours: 6 Lecture Hours: 5 Lab Hours: 8
Focuses on providing an integrative, family-centered approach to the care of mothers, newborns, children, and adolescents. Emphasis is placed on normal and high-risk pregnancies, normal growth and development, family dynamics, common pediatric disorders, and the promotion of healthy behaviors in clients and their families. Common women’s health issues across the lifespan will be addressed. Clinical experiences provide the student an opportunity to apply theoretical concepts and implement safe client care to mothers, newborns, and children in a variety of acute care and community settings.
Prerequisite(s) All Level I nursing courses
